There are many great choppers out there. IMO, Ka-bar are one of the top survival knives out there and it’s been proven over and over. Becker Knife and Tool are also great knives and they are TANKS. Very thick blades that would be great for chopping. They have various different sizes so it would be up to you to choose what suits you best. My personal favorite are ESEE/RAT Cutlery knives. They are more expensive than the other two mentioned but they have the best warranty out there. SOG knives are okay, but slightly overpriced for what you get. They tend to use softer steels that will dull on you quicker, especially when chopping. There’s are many higher value knives out there than SOG.
I think around a 7" blade would be great.
