here is a fixed blade knife that i acquired from a trade with a good buddy of mine… its a great little hunting knife that i plan on using some time in the next few weeks… steel is VG-1 stainless… retail is and the cheapest place i found it on was amazon for
Spyderco and other knives in my collection: Spyderco Caly 3, Spyderco Endura 3, butterfly knife, Gerber EZ-Out, Gerber AR 3.0, Gerber Legend Multi-Plier 800. Demonstration of a one-handed closing technique that can be used with lockback knives.
A high value traditional knife that offers good capabilities at its price point. Not tactical and not flashy but it remains a good seller because it just works! ///////////////////// Nutnfancy Likability Scale: 7 out of 10 (price considered)
If there’s a right way to make a manual folding tactical or hunting knife this is it: The outstanding Benchmade Osborne Axis 940 series of knives. All makers take note of these knives: ultra fast and easy deployment due to perfect pivot construction and balance. Who needs an auto with deployment speed like this. It really doesn’t get any better than this. Add superior construction throughout, rock solid lock up, great 154CM blade steel, a cool purple titanium spacer on the back, strong clip, and great colors to this superior design. Also the both the clip and reverse tanto blade shapes offer great utility in every day carry (not too wide). At around 5 these knives are actually a good deal. Heirloom quality. They are some of my absolute favorite tactical or EDC (every day carry) folders.
Cleaning fish or camp tasks, the AG Russell Bird and Trout Knife just rocks. It’s mere 2.1 oz including the sheath. Unbelievable. And yet it’s perfectly sized and shaped VG10 blade is razor sharp, holds an edge, resists rust, and is adequately stiff for other cutting chores. This is one of my TOP picks for a backpacking utility blade. The FRN sheath locks the blade with authority and carries easily with the swivel clip. The Bird & Trout handle is appropriately small but provides great traction and slip resistance when wet. If you need a larger fillet style knife for larger fish, try the very affordable Kershaw Model 1250 knife in 420J2 steel. It should excel at filleting with minimal waste. But most of my fish are the smaller Cuts and Brookies and the Bird & Trout is ideal for them. It’s somewhat pricey at (subject to change) but you cannot find a better trout knife at this weight and with this quality steel and sheath. Outstanding. ///////////// Nutnfancy LIkability Scale: 9 out of 10
