Now in HD: www.youtube.com World Class Hawk Champion Doyle Johnson shows his secrets to accurate Hawk (tomahawk) throwing for competition. The same principals apply to throwing a knife or axe. Doyle also gives the history of hawk throwing and safety. If you are interested in further study see wikipedia’s en.wikipedia.org or visit our site at www.twoeagleskitchen.com for our schedule or to actually meet Doyle and perhaps throw a hawk or two. (The term “Hawk” is correct for competition tomahawk throwing). Hawk throwing is an ancient art first practiced by aboriginal peoples with stone axes for hunting, then adapted to metal. Living History Events, Fur Trade, Rendezvous and Mountain Man Festivals all feature some activity regarding this sport. I’ve heard Ka-Bar is a pretty good brand, but I’ve also heard people say it’s not that great. I’m just looking for a good quality hunting/combat knife. Nothing too expensive, but not crappy either.
I’d like something With a 4-5 inch blade, preferably not stainless steel, something that’ll last awhile, keep its edge, and be able to take some abuse. I’d rather not spend more than 50$, but I can wait and save up if I have to.
but i don’t know too much about knives. any ideas on what is a good and reliable knife, that will not break when you need it most? any ideas on what brands have the best products?
